Drift Inflatable Paddle Board: Why I Like this Low Priced SUP

Do you want to start paddleboarding without spending a lot of money on equipment? The Drift inflatable paddle board is very affordable, plus it’s well made, so it will last a long time.

What’s to Like About the Drift Inflatable SUP?

In addition to being low cost, this SUP is inflatable, so it ships to you for free. (Not to mention, you can travel with it virtually anywhere without paying expensive shipping charges.) Therefore, you can save a bunch of money, especially if you travel with your paddleboard.

Note: I particularly like this stand up paddleboard because it features an elevated “rocker style” nose. As a result, it cuts through rough surf and waves more easily for a more streamlined ride.

How is a Shorter, Lightweight SUP Better?

I also like the fact that the Drift only weighs 19 lbs. Lightweight SUPs are easier to carry, load in your car and carry in a backpack, especially for smaller people.

The shorter 10-foot 8-inch length also makes this board easier to turn and maneuver in the water. When you’re in narrow waterways or surrounded by other people, this shorter length can come in handy.

That said, this lightweight inflatable can still hold a good amount of weight (250 pounds). Therefore, you can use this SUP even if you are big and tall – or you can transport your pet.

This Low-Priced Paddleboard is NOT Cheaply Made:

Lightweight Paddleboard Grab HandleFor an inexpensive paddle board, the Drift is well made. It’s constructed of heavy-duty PVC material and contains an inner drop stitch support system.

Combine those factors with the high 15 PSI inflation pressure, and you get a very rigid SUP. In fact, it closely resembles the feel of a hard board.

Consequently, the stiff surface provides more stability for paddlers. Plus, it helps with doing paddleboard yoga. In other words, people of all skill levels can use the Drift SUP.

Note: This SUP comes with an easy-to-use standard hand pump. That said, it requires some effort and takes about 10 minutes to inflate your SUP.

Alternatively, you can invest in an electric air pump, which only takes 5-7 minutes for inflation. Or, you can leave your board inflated when you don’t need to deflate it.

What Comes with the Drift Stand Up Paddleboard?

Although the Drift SUP is fairly cheap at around $400, it comes as a complete package. For example, the bundle includes:

  • 10’8″ Inflatable Paddle Board
  • Removable Fin
  • High Pressure Air Pump
  • 3-Piece Aluminum Paddle
  • Heavy Duty SUP Backpack
  • Repair Kit

SUP Bungee Straps and Grab Handle on NoseIn addition, the paddleboard has 6 D-rings with bungee straps and 3 grab handles.

Therefore, you can secure a life vest, water bottle, dry bag, etc.. on top of the board. Plus, you can easily carry and tie up your SUP to shore.

The built-in EVA deck pad provides a comfortable surface for standing and even doing yoga poses. It prevents slipping and therefore makes the deck feel more stable and secure (perfect for beginners).
